Alan Barrell works part-time as Entrepreneur in Residence, University of Cambridge; Visiting Professor of Enterprise, University of Bedfordshire; Visiting Professor - Entrepreneurial Studies, University of Xiamen, China; International Fellow, Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki and Senior Enterprise Fellow, University of Essex.

He is also engaged with delivering educational programmes on a number of subjects, including:

  • Diversity and Cultural aspects of Business Development and Innovation

Professor Barrell has planned and implemented customised workshops for the senior management team of Investors in People (Leadership), Medilink East (Funding Early stage companies) - University of Bedfordshire - "investment Readiness" and many more. He advises and teaches the executive teams of companies in the technology sector on Business Modelling and Business Planning and on Strategy Development - including "Strategies for Going International".

Four books have been published in the "Director Books" series, published by Simon and Schuster International Ltd:

Professor Barrell teaches most often at The Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning - Judge Institute of management Studies, Cambridge, University of Bedfordshire Graduate School of Business Studies, University of Xiamen, China, University of Hertfordshire and University of Essex.
