Zagreb International Education Fair - Britain is first International Partner in major annual event in Croatia. British Consulate and UKTI support an amazing event for the Youth of Croatia to explore Global Education Opportunities | 20 October 2011
The Annual Education Fair in Zagreb, run by the Croatian Education Institute attracted more than 7,000 young people (and some older ones) to the magnificent University Library Building in Zagreb - on October 19th. The UK became the first partner of the Institute - with the British Council and the Embassy in Zagreb in full support. Ambassador David Blunt was present with his key staff for most of the event and spoke at meetings within the programme of the Fair, and also at University events held at the same time. Alan Barrell was an invited speaker at the Fair - and at University events and enjoyed a dinner discussion at the Ambassador’s residence - with the Croatian Minister of Education and other key figures interested in the development of the next generation and in the evolution of an entrepreneurial society in Croatia - something already started and high on the priorities of government to support and encourage. Alan was extremely impressed with the Fair - "Electric and Energising" he called it. And he was honoured to be part of it all. You can access the short form Synopses and the PowerPoint presentations Alan used in his talks below - and he welcomes comments and questions.
