Tohoku Fukushi University Sendai Japan honours Alan Barrell with Guest Professorship | February 2011
On February 8th Professor Koki Hagino appointed Alan Barrell as Guest Professor at Tohoku Fukishi University in Sendai, which is a city 350 Kilometres north of Tokyo in Japan. Professor Barrell’s work in the NHS Cambridge, the East of England, nationally, and in Finland with Laurea University of Applied Sciences resonates significantly with the ground breaking work of Tohoku Fukushi University in the field of Healthcare and Wellness. Research and activity relating to long term medical care, ageing and dementia in particular, are specialities of Tohoku Fukushi University and these topics have very great relevance to society and health services in the UK and Finland, as well as in Japan.
