Finland Honours Alan Barrell with Order of the White Rose | December 2010
December 6th was Finland's Independence Day – a Public holiday. On that day each year Finland announces honours – and decorations. Amongst those honoured by the President of Finland this year was Professor Alan Barrell – who receives Knighthood 1st Class of the Order of the White Rose of Finland. This is in recognition of his services to university Education and its development in Finland. Details of the Award can be seen here on Wikipedia.
