Alan Barrell - IGNITE CHAMPION 2008 | July 2008
At the Gala dinner which ended the IGNITE Summer School for Entrepreneurs - run by Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at Judge Business School, Cambridge - Professor Alan Barrell was honoured to receive from Lord Karan Bilimoria, Founder of Cobra Beer and Visiting Entrepreneur University of Cambridge, THE IGNITE 2008 Award - for dedication and services to Enterprise in Cambridge and the CfEL Programmes in particular. This year, Alan worked as a Mentor with a team of entrepreneurs each day at the IGNITE week, and also gave a workshop on "How Investors Value Companies". Alan has worked from the days of the formation of the Cambridge Entrepreneurship Centre as one of the dedicated "Entrepreneurs in Residence" and has supported the work of many entrepreneurs in the community and in many Faculties within University of Cambridge. His work takes him to many countries around the World - but Cambridge is 'home' and the centre point of all his endeavours.
